October 2013 Book Selection

October's book(s), discussion, and activities are for grades 7-12.

To "officially" sign up to participate in this month's discussion and activities, please join the Wiki. Then, post on the Discussion Board under the "Introduce Yourself" thread by 3:00 PM Friday, October 18.
The October book selection is the participants' choice of one of the 2013 Printz Award Winner or Honor Books. Click on any of the links to see these book choices.

Participants are responsible for obtaining a copy of the book.

Participants are expected to:

• Read the assigned book(s) for the month.
• Respond to the discussion questions.
• Repsond to other participants answers in separate posts.
• Create a lesson using the book(s).
• Meet together for 1 hour to further discuss the books and share lesson plans.

Discussions need to be posted and Lessons need to be emailed by 9:00 PM Sunday, October 27.

We will meet to discuss the books on Monday, October 28 from 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM in theTimken Library. Please enter the Timken Commons from the 4th St. parking lot at Door 2. The Library is on the second floor, up the big, blue staircase.

1. In a Word Doc or PDF file, same and name your lesson plan with your name and the title of the book (Example: Mindy E. - In Darkness)
